Carnival of the Animals by The Miami City Ballet Students

March 22nd, 2012

I love working with The Miami City Ballet, and thanks to my dear friend Carol I have had many opportunities to do so. She has allowed me to assist her on many beautiful pieces including “Romeo and Juliet” and the amazing “Bugaku.”

But I have to say that none of them were as much fun as ‘Carnival of the Animals,” which is a piece that the Miami City Ballet students performed at the Adrienne Arsht Center.  I got to create small flowers, frogs and zebra faces to go along with the adorable costumes. Can you say “face painting!” It was refreshing to see so much dedication and talent in these young ladies. Plus, they were polite enough to laugh at all my bad animal jokes!

Here are a few pics from behind the scenes.
