Katherine’s Wedding – Makeup by Lisa @ The Blushing Bride®

November 15th, 2009

Another Saturday, another blushing bride. I’ve been looking forward to creating the bridal makeup for yesterday’s wedding for quite a while. I met Katherine, the bride, at her friend Michele’s wedding a year and a half ago.  I had done the makeup for the entire bridal party and always remembered Katherine’s gorgeous thick hair and flawless skin. When she became engaged she gave me a call to share the news. I was thrilled that she retained me to do the makeup for herself and six others for her big day.

Purple was the color of the day, so shades of pink, mauve, grey and charcoal makeup ruled. Everyone wanted to keep the makeup pretty fresh and light, with the exception of one over worked nursing student who felt the need for some fun and wanted more of a smokey eye. For her outdoor ceremony I decided that it would be best to work with Bridal Veil Foundation, an oil-free formula with a beautiful long lasting finish.

The event was at The Pelican Grand Beach Resort and was perfectly organized by the ever bubbly, ever brilliant Jean Wilco of Jean Wilco Events. This was a new venue for me, but now that I’ve seen it I can’t wait to recommend it. It is located right on Ft. Lauderdale Beach, and turns out to be an amazing oceanfront location for an intimate wedding. The ceremony was held on the roof top, off of the 11th floor.  Here’s a peek at the bride, her family and friends, and the incredible view…
