The Bridesmaids Wore Green

November 2nd, 2009

On Sunday morning I had the pleasure of working with a beautiful wedding at the Hyatt Regency Bonaventure Spa. I was helping my friend Fernando out by doing the makeup for six of the bridesmaids while he was creating his magic for the bride and her family. It was very Profect Runway like, because each girl was given five yards of the same green silk to design her own gown with. I love to sew , so I thought that this was a brilliant idea. It was a religious ceremony, so the styles created ensured that their arms and chests were covered.

The girls were so much fun to talk with, and I really enjoyed getting to know them all.  It was a lovely surprise that one BM remembered that I had done the makeup for her sister’s wedding a few years ago. With the green silk as inspiration, the girls went for a slightly bronzy look for their skin. Eyes were done in shades of ivory, gold, shimmery deep khaki green and bronze from The Blushing Bride Cosmetics eyeshadow collection. The lips were kept soft and neutral.
